Millions of people tuned in to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, but not everyone was interested in watching the big game.

Here on the Central Coast, many locals decided to spend the day outside and enjoy their favorite spots with smaller crowds.

We went to Avila Beach and asked people why they decided against watching the Super Bowl.

"I'm just planning on taking a day off and relaxing. I've been on a diet too so I can't eat all the junk food," said Mitch Emerson of Arroyo Grande.

"I just don't watch football and we don't have cable," said Grace Quevedo of Oceano.

"I'd rather be out here enjoying the wonderful weather," said Robert of Avila Beach.

Most of the people we spoke with say the only reason they usually tune in to the Super Bowl is to catch the funny commercials and hang out with friends and family.
