Stagnant air continues to challenge air quality

Stagnant weather conditions are allowing air pollutants to be trapped near the ground. In the wintertime, when the weather remains cold and stagnant for several days, wood smoke can build up and pollution levels rise. An increase in particulate matter is forecasted to occur; however, the AQI is forecasted to remain in the good category. Extremely sensitive individuals with existing respiratory or heart conditions may experience adverse health effects and may need to take appropriate precautions. The general public likely will not experience symptoms.

Tuesday, Jan 22: 36 AQI Good Particle Pollution (2.5 microns)
Wednesday, Jan 23: 32 AQI Good Particle Pollution (2.5 microns)

The Air Quality Forecast is provided by the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District.
