Stewart, Hattar lead Templeton girls by Paso Robles

Mari Stewart recorded a double-double and Megan Hattar poured in 17 points to lead the Templeton girls basketball team to a 56-45 win over Paso Robles in both teams' season openers on Tuesday night.

Stewart, a junior, finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Hattar, another junior, added 3 steals to go with her 17 points.

Molly Donovan led the Bearcats with 25 points in the loss.

Templeton is coming off the best year in program history. The Eagles went 23-8 and lost in the CIF semifinals. They went 2-1 against the Bearcats last season.

Paso Robles is looking to rebound from a 10-15 season.

Both teams will play in the Ruth Doser Tournament hosted by Atascadero High later this week.
