Streaking Eagles make it 94-straight league victories

Alexis Elias and Isabella Manuelle scored three goals apiece to lead the Arroyo Grande High girls water polo team to its 94th-straight league victory on Tuesday. The Eagles won at Righetti High 9-1 to improve to 4-0 in Pac 7 League action and 15-2 overall.

Arroyo Grande was coming off a championship run at its own 19 team tournament over the week. The Eagles are ranked fifth this week in the latest CIF Division 3 Coaches poll. Righetti was just outside of the top 10 and was listed among other teams receiving votes.

Hannah Wadlow and Alana Benson shared duties in goal for the Eagles. Wadlow made 2 saves, while Benson, a junior, tallied 4.

Kaybree Albright scored Righetti's lone goal early in the fourth quarter. The Warriors dropped their second league game of the season.

Arroyo Grande has not lost a league game since 2003. The Eagles are working toward their tenth-straight league title under head coach Steven Allen.
