Students get Thanksgiving meal thanks to Food Bank volunteers

When you make a donation to the Season of Hope, it directly benefits people in need on the Central Coast. One example of that is through the Food Bank. In San Luis Obispo County, the Food Bank touches many more lives than you may realize. Just last week, students at one school in Atascadero were able to enjoy an early Thanksgiving meal thanks to community volunteers and the Food Bank. The meal fed about 50 people, including both students and staff members. "The staff is really excited, along with the kids about working together and eating, I guess breaking bread, for one day," said Ruben Lopez, principal. In addition to this special lunch, the Food Bank provided 30 turkeys and all the fixings to students whose families needed a little extra help with their Thanksgiving meals.
