San Luis Obispo Police detectives have identified the suspects in a shooting investigation that brought them to Fresno County Thursday.
On November 7, a man was shot after investigators say the suspects conspired to steal money from him during a drug deal. The shooting victim was found at Santa Rosa Park.
Three San Luis Obispo residents were arrested on November 7 and 8. They have been identified as Tyler Silveira, 20, Gannon Fierro, 18, and Nicholas Lopez, 18.
On December 6, detectives traveled to Fresno County in search of the remaining three suspects. They arrested Jeffrey Sigxaydene, 19, of Fresno. They did not find Mitchell Soundara, 18, or Benjamin Ma, 19, both of Fresno, but they have warrants out for their arrests.
While police were serving search warrants at three locations, they seized weapons and hundreds of pounds of marijuana.
"We are fortunate these crimes do not occur in SLO as often as in other communities," said Stephen Gesell, San Luis Obispo Chief of Police, "When they do, we want to send a loud message that we will do whatever it takes to find those responsible and hold them accountable. I think we've sent that message with these arrests and weeks of diligent police work."
Doctors were unable to remove the bullet from the victim's body, due to the fact it was lodged between two vertebras and close to the spinal cord. The victim has been released from the hospital and is experiencing some paralysis in his right leg.
