Santa Maria Police say two people were involved in a deadly hit and run Tuesday evening.

Police were called out to the 2100 block of North Blosser on Tuesday just before 7:00 p.m.

That's where a 56 year-old man was walking his dog and was struck and killed by a 1990 Honda CRX.

Police say the driver of the car was Alvino Corona, 19, lost control of the car and collided into a chain link fence. Corona and his passenger and wife, Veronica Corona, 18, fled on foot, but they then returned to the scene about an hour later. Alvino Corona was arrested for felony hit-and-run.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene his identity has not been released.
