Losing weight and exercising more are popular New Year's resolutions, so here are some tips to keep those commitments going well into 2014.
Start out by making simple changes to your diet. For example, eat baked chicken instead of fried chicken and veggies instead of chips.
Don't cut out all desserts. Instead, limit yourself to smaller portions and have dessert just a few times each week.
If you're planning on exercising more, find a buddy who will work out with you and keep you accountable.
If you don't have a lot of time to exercise, park far away when you're running errands, and take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Finally, experts say losing one to two pounds a week is the best way to keep the weight off, so don't get discouraged if you don't see big losses every week.
