Amgen's Tour of California is heading through the Central Coast and San Luis Obispo County officials are responding to concerns from residents.
The Avila Valley Advisory Council will discuss and address some frustrations that residents have involving the Tour when it rides through Avila Beach in May. Supervisor Adam Hill plans to attend the meeting Monday to discuss concerns the public might have.
That meeting is being held at the PG&E Education area at 7:00 pm. The meeting is open for public comment.
Supervisor Hill says, "Since the announcement, we have had a chance to meet up with the tour folks who are working out the logistics of the route; I honestly think we can do so and things will be done safely."
Hill went on to explain that the previous races have supported long-term economic growth. He mentioned that the biggest concerns from people who live in the area are safety and convenience.
