Kids may need to turn the TV off to get their brains to do the same.
Researchers in New Zealand tracked the activities of 2,000 kids and teens during the hour and a half before bedtime.
Television dominated the pre-bedtime routines, accounting for about 30 of those 90 minutes.
Those who watched more TV in the evenings fell asleep later, and consequently got less shut-eye, than other kids.
