Two juvenile great white sharks were released after being caught off the Manhattan Beach Pier in southern California.
The great white is a protected species and the sharks were cut loose and released on Tuesday by experts at the Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium.
An abundance of squid in the area might be what attracting the sharks. Experts say there have been more great white sightings off Southern California now that they're federally protected.
Despite the increase, a recent estimate states that there are fewer than 350 adult great whites off the West Coast.
