Two parts of Hwy 1 closed due to rock slide

Cal Trans has closed sections of Highway 1 in two separate locations due to a rock slide that happened Sunday afternoon.
The highway is closed at Partington Ridge Road and at Lucia. Crews are working to assess the damage and begin cleanup. There is no estimated time of reopening.
Businesses in the Big Sur community south to Cambria are open. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes.
