Paso Robles will be featured again in the next issue of Wine Spectator Magazine. The issue coming out August 31st will focus on cuisine and two Paso Robles restaurants will enjoy the spotlight. Il Cortile Ristorante in downtown Paso Robles and The Restaurant at JUSTIN are being honored with Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence.
According to the Wine Spectator website, the awards "recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers." Additionally, winning wine lists typically include 100 or more wines.
The wine list at Il Cortile is selected by Carole MacDonal, co-proprietor with Chef Santos MacDonal. "Winning this award is especially thrilling because we started so small almost five years ago," she said. "At the time, all we offered were 27 bottles of local wine and a handful of Italian bottles. Today, we have over 250."
