The California Highway Patrol is searching for a truck described as an older 70's-80's white Chevrolet pickup that fled the scene of an officer-involved hit and run in San Luis Obispo early Monday morning.

At about 6:15, a marked police vehicle entered Highway 101 at the Prado Road entrance, heading northbound. That's when a speeding vehicle ran into the back of the police car. The collision caused the police car to lose traction and slide off the road into the center divider.

The police officer was wearing his seatbelt and suffered only minor injuries.

If you have any information regarding the crash you are asked to call the San Luis Obispo CHP at (805) 593-3333.
