The California Highway Patrol says a DUI driver was arrested and released following a traffic collision on Highway 46 Friday night.
It happened just before 8 p.m.
CHP officers say a DUI driver turned eastbound onto Highway 46 from Jardine Road, but he drove into oncoming traffic. A car travelling on the westbound side didn't have time to avoid hitting the other car. Both drivers turned at the last minute to avoid a complete head-on collision. Officers say it was more of a side swipe.
The CHP says both drivers had minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
The DUI driver was arrested and released. He hasn't been formally charged, but CHP officers say the District Attorney's Office will file a complaint against him soon.
