A wind advisory has been posted for the Central Coast from noon Wednesday until 3am Thursday.
A tightening surface pressure gradient with a dry cold front will develop strong winds. Strong winds across the area may persist into late week.
Northwest winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph on wednesday afternoon and persist through late Wednesday night.
Winds will strengthen through the afternoon with the strongest gusts occuring in the early evening then diminish late wednesday.
Travel may be impacted on area roadways especially on highways 1 and 101.
A wind advisory means that winds of 35 mph or greater are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles. use extra caution.
