The Righetti and San Luis Obispo boys basketball teams both fell to 0-2 at the Mission Prep Christmas Classic. The Warriors lost 66-47 to Mission Hills in their Elite Division bracket opener.
Righetti trailed by nine points at the half, but Mission Hills scored the first 9 points of the second half to extend its lead to 18.
Cameron Walker, Righetti's stellar sophomore, led all scorers with 19 points. Landon Browne added 8 points, while Matthew Laflin scored 7 for the Warriors.
Kibret Woldemichel scored 9 of his 14 points in the first half to lead the Grizzlies. Mission Hills' 7-0 center Kameron Rooks, who's being recruited by several Pac-12 schools, added 6 points before getting in foul trouble.
Righetti faces Marin Catholic on Friday at 1:30 pm.
San Luis Obispo lost 59-36 in a challenge game with Lutheran out of La Verne. Blake Shapazian led the Tigers with 15 points, while Jonathan Edwards added 5.
6-9 star Aplha Ndaw led the Grizzlies with 15 points. Joe Rushing added 12 points.
The Tigers return to action against Miramonte in an Elite Division bracket game at 3pm on Friday.
