Wet, windy and cold

Bundle up! It's going to be cold, windy and wet beginning late tonight through late Friday night. An upper-level low is expected to arrive anytime. This low pressure system is expected to bring rain and strong northwesterly winds to the region.

Cold and unstable air could produce isolated thunderstorms Friday afternoon, but rain showers should end by the evening hours. Rainfall totals could range between a tenth and quarter of an inch. Snow levels are expected to fall near 2,500 feet in Santa Barbara County, but nothing significant, only a few inches.

Santa Lucia winds should blow Saturday producing dry weather and warmer temperatures. Next week looks warmer and sunny, but overnight lows in North County could drop into the 20s.

The National Weather Service has issued a few weather warnings; a gale force wind warning, which could cause gusts from 24 to 38 mph, and a winter weather advisory for Santa Barbra County, which stays in effect until Saturday.
