Q: Why does my cat pull his hair out at night. He is clean and brushed, but every morning he has plucked out some hair.

A: This one is going to require a trip to the vet. The most common causes of this are fleas (which you may never see on your cat), inhaled allergies like hayfever, and stress. Your veterinarian can do a full exam and talk to you about the details of your cat's life to help you determine what is going on. The treatments for each are very different. If you cannot afford a visit to the vet right now (which should not be very extensive in this case), try a good quality flea control product first - use it every 3 weeks rather than every 4 weeks and give it 2 months to see if it helps. You will need every pet in your cat's environment to be on flea control to get fleas out of your life.
