Rhonda Wisto and her son Frank York were found guilty Friday in the death of 15-year-old Dystiny Myers.
The Santa Maria girl's body was found beaten and burned near Santa Margarita back in 2012.
The mother and son were both convicted of first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, and torture.
After hearing the jury's decision, Rhonda Wisto was visibly upset with the decision.
Her son, Frank York, was by her side as he listened to his charges being read.
After more than two years, Dystiny Myers' family may have some closure, but Myers' grandmother says more importantly, Dystiny can be at peace.
"We finally got justice for our little girl, for Dystiny," said Kathleen Clark, Myers' grandmother.
Clark says listening to the verdict brought some closure, but she says she'll always have questions as to why her granddaughter is gone.
"I think the only one that could answer them is Dystiny and she's not here anymore," said Clark.
But after years of waiting for answers, she says it's finally time to move forward.
"I think this is just the beginning of our adventure back," said Clark.
She says she'll never forget Dystiny.
"She walked into the room and everybody knew Dystiny was there. She had a very vibrant spirit," said Clark.
Clark says she hopes the people involved in her murder will never forget what they took from her.
"One of the things that was said was that she was a nobody. That's so untrue and they are going to see that on the 8th of May," said Clark.
Wisto and York will be sentenced on May 8th.
Three others were also charged with Myers' murder.
Ty Michael Hill and Cody Miller pleaded guilty to first degree murder and were sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Jason Greenwell testified against Wisto and York. He was sentenced to 15 years with the opportunity for parole at that time.
