LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles fire officials say they have found the body of a woman believed to have fallen off a cliff toward the ocean.

Fire spokesman Erik Scott says that after calls Sunday night saying someone had gone over a cliff's edge in San Pedro, firefighters searched in boats, in helicopters and on foot, eventually spotting the body along the sheer cliff faces of the Sunken City area.

Scott says the hard-to-reach body had to be hoisted out with a fire department helicopter, which landed nearby.

Scott unidentified woman, who appears about 45 years old, was then turned over to police and coroner's officials for investigation.
