FRENCH HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER
FAMILY BIRTHING CENTER TOUR: Take a family birthing center tour at French Hospital Medical Center. This tour will familiarize expectant families with the birthing center, and answer any questions. This small group tour takes 30-45 minutes. Call for an appointment (805) 542-6659. Meet in the French Hospital lobby at 1911 Johnson Avenue, San Luis Obispo. Partners, coaches and grandparents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR BIRTH: Pre-registration may be done at the Information Desk in the Main Lobby. Hours are Monday-Friday 5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please bring your identification and insurance cards. This is done on a walk-in basis and is best to complete by your seventh month of pregnancy.

THE BABY HOUR: WEEKLY BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT GROUP: Join other nursing mothers and a lactation consultant for this free wReekly breastfeeding support group. Learn about various topics surrounding breastfeeding and parenthood. Mothers and babies are welcome and there is no need to register. Mondays 10:30 am-11:30 am, The Breastfeeding Clinic at The Bear Valley Center, 12326 Los Osos Valley Road, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405.

CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION: Tuesday February 4 through 25 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This series provides the expectant mother and her coach with the knowledge and support necessary for a prepared and positive birth experience. Covers the stages of labor and birth process, as well as relaxation, paced breathing and comfort techniques. The third class includes information on Cesarean section and a tour of Marian Maternal & Newborn Center. The fourth class focuses on breastfeeding techniques along with instruction on bathing, diapering and understanding the needs of a newborn. Register online at
