  CHP looking for silver BMW in local hit-and-run

  The California Highway Patrol is searching for a hit-and-run driver who allegedly struck a bicyclist in Shell Beach Thursday evening.

  Officers say the cyclist was riding on Shell Beach Rd. between Avila Beach Dr. and El Portal. He was hauling a bike trailer with his dog inside.

  The California Highway Patrol says a driver who caused a collision involving four vehicles near Lompoc early Tuesday appeared to be under the influence.

• SAN LUIS OBISPO

  Highway 101 ramps closed at Marsh Street for signal project

  Expect some delays at the intersection of Higuera and Marsh streets in San Luis Obispo. The city has closed the Highway 101 ramps at Marsh Street so it can make improvements to traffic signals at the intersection. The closure will continue Tuesday until 3 p.m. and resume Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

  Traffic backed up from San Luis Obispo to Pismo Beach

  The California Highway Patrol says traffic is backed up on southbound Highway 101 all the way from California Boulevard in San Luis Obispo to Price Street in Pismo Beach. The CHP says there have been at least two accidents in the area in the past hour but that no one was hurt.
