The cold front has been marching our way all day, it is interesting to note the rain to the north of the Central Coast thus far is fairly light but I think that's because the cold front is a bit in front of the best dynamics of the low pressure and cold air aloft. To me it looks like the upper energy catches up with front this evening and should envigorate rain rates a bit. .50 to 1" still looks like a good forecast but should the upper energy lag, lower totals may happen. After the front passes late this evening the rain will taper to more scattered in nature but lingering on and off shower continue as aforecast possibility into Saturday afternoon. Saturday will also see NW Winds pick up to 15-25mph with some gusts to 30 with highs in the lower 60s it'll be quite a blustry day. Sunday through later next week high pressure builds in and mild temps in the 70s return.
